Bacon Brothers Play for and Chat with Metro Nashville Schools Students
Among the most inspiring moments in our work with public school music students is bringing them together with professional artists, musicians, engineers, and others. When actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael (aka the Bacon Brothers), recently played Nashville’s Franklin Theatre, we were thrilled to invite a group of Nashville’s public high school students to the soundcheck. As Coalition artist ambassadors, the Bacon Bros then talked with these young people in a nearly hour-long question and answer conversation.
It was clear from the downbeat that this was a special moment. The brothers and band opened with tight harmonies from the very first chord, and the kids’ faces lit up. Students, parents, and chaperones were all beaming.
Check out these highlights from the conversation. It is inspiring and has some surprises. Interestingly, the students have lots of musical questions while the parents had more comments and questions about Kevin’s acting career.
Stay tuned for more video segments like this in the coming months.
